Our tie is printed in purple (for dignity) and green (for hope) and white (for purity), colours which were introduced at the Hyde Park Rally of 21 June 1908. Merchandise was sold through the WSPU shops and advertised in Votes for Women. Christabel Pankhurst wears an identical tie, held together by a WSPU badge, in a photograph depicting her arrest with Flora Drummond and Emmeline Pankhurst at Clement's Inn on 13 October 1908 after the 'Rush' on the House of Commons.
