About he Native American Chief ;
According to the widow of the Estate for her late husband. They found this Piece in an Native American Jewelry & antique shop in Albuquerque NM.
He was made In the early 1970's By an Native American Navajo Artist for the shop owner and a National Geographic Famous Indian Chief Museum tour though out the US with approx 6 to 7 other Chiefs.
According to the widow of the estate , her husband tired for several years to talk the shop owner into selling him one which eventually did for 10,000.
She indicated that the native American Artist that did this work ( who also did the papoose's featured in this auction.) had a alcohol issue and after he was paid refused to create anymore items for the shop.
The widow of the state was in her late 80's and recently passed , so this is all the information we got.
She did not have the name of the shop or the Navajo Artist that did the work .
