An Indian early 20th century hand carved architectural temple carving from Gujarat, depicting a mother and her child with nicely weathered patina. Born in the Western portion of India in the state of Gujarat, this exquisite hand carved temple sculpture features a mother and her child. Topped with a delicate headdress and wearing nice clothes and jewelry, the woman is depicted in a frontal position, while her small child, hanging from her flank and grabbing her dress, is turning his head backwards to look at us. A big smile adorns his lips. Charming our eyes with its nicely weathered appearance, traces of polychrome and nice proportions, this early 20th century Indian temple carving from Gujarat, unfinished in the back, will enliven any wall beautifully.
