Lovely Chinese inkstone, a Chinese craft exercised to perfection in the carving of the ornamental section of this stone. The flying crane with the fungi held in its beak. Chinese calligraphy mark the back surface to read as an aspirational legend and the maker's seal mark. The measurements are 7" by 6.5", and 1.75" tall. The wooden cover, box lid, and underside are carved in the form of the lotus leaf.
