Set of six plein-art watercolors by New York artist, Stanley C. Brodey (1920 - 2001, Long Island, New York).
Brodey drew inspiration from his native Long Island scenery, capturing the shoreline, beach scenes, architecture, and fields.
He was involved in many artist associations on Long Island, and showed regularly at galleries nationwide.
A pinnacle moment in his career was showing at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
His work is included in the prestigious private collections of DuPont, Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, to name a few.
This set made around 1963 is comprehensive in the respect that it showcases Brodey's different styles and subject matters.
There are beach, forest, park, and city scenes in addition to a still life.
The works are titled "Still Life," "Forest," "Tiger's Park," "Waterfront House," "Burst of Spring," and "Subway Street Corner," respectively.
Soiling / edge wear / general wear to the original mats (most of which can be concealed by the addition of a frame).
