About the artist: Ukrainian artist, painter and graphic artist, author of landscapes, genre paintings, numerous drawings and pastels. He studied at the Academy of Arts under P. Chistyakov, V. Orlovsky, M. Klodt (1882-1887). He graduated from the Academy of Arts with a large gold medal and the title of class artist of the 1st degree. Retired AH in France. He studied at the Cormon Academy in Paris (1888-1892). Together with S. Vasilkovsky, M. Berkos, N. Uvarov and A. Beketov, by order of the architect V. Krichevsky, he worked on the interior of the Poltava Zemstvo building in Kharkov. Active exhibitor. The main theme of creativity is seascapes. Works of M.S. Tkachenko are kept in the art collections of Kharkov, Lviv, the State Russian Museum, many other museums and private collections. Artworks were auctioned at Sotheby`s Christie`s.
