Lot description: This rare promotional beanie made by Merrimac Hat Company was probably produced in the early 1960s by Boeing to promote Vertol's double propellor helicopter the Chinook. Also note: one of the propellors is higher than the other on the hat - just like it would be on the Chinook. There is some moth damage to the hat in the form of small holes. This is a humorous take on the propellor beanie brought in to pop culture in the late 1940s and popularized by a comic and television show called Beany and Cecil.
