About the artist: Ukrainian painter.
Grigory Emelyanovich Khizhnyak was born in 1899.
In the early 1920s studied at the Kiev Art Institute. His teachers were A. Exter and A. Bogomazov.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of portraiture, still life and landscape.

1924 - Professional exhibition of the All-Ukrainian Union of Artists section, Kiev;
1927 - Anniversary exhibition of art of the peoples of the USSR, VKHUTEMAS premises, Moscow;
