Published by Editions d'Art Manuel Bruker, Paris; printed by Imprimerie Daragnes, Paris, June 30, 1955. Excerpted from the album (translated from French), This work has been completed to print on the presses of Mrs. J.-G. Daragnes on June 30, 1955 and has CC examples on velin de Rives numbered from I to CC. A sequence of the gravures on Rives was attached to the first XX examples. JACQUES VILLON (1875-1963), also known as Gaston Duchamp, was a French Cubist and abstract painter and printmaker. Among Villon's greatest achievements as a printmaker was his creation of a purely graphic language for cubism - an accomplishment that no other printmaker, including his fellow cubists Pablo Picasso or Georges Braque, could claim.
