Slightly irregularly shaped Chawan in a soft black glaze with gold and enamel butterflies in the style of Ninsei, with impressed mark to base and inventory label "175 / Ninsei" . in Japanese wood storage box. Purchased at PB84, a subsidiary of Sotheby Parke Bernet in the early 1980's. Edo Period or earlier. Domestic Shipping $35 plus 1.5% insurance
