Vintage 18kt & Platinum Amethyst Diamond Ring, Sz. 6.5. The amethyst appears to be natural based on testing and is appx. 10+ ctw. 16.5mm by 12mm and 10mm thick. Very clean stone, very good cut. Oval and held with eight double prongs. The ring sits up higher on the finger at appx, 11.5mm high. The basket is like a crown with curved accents that form into the tall double prongs. Off to the sides are three diamonds on each side. The center diamonds are appx. .08 ctw each and the two smaller diamonds on each side are appx. .04 ctw each for a .32 tcw of all diamonds. The diamonds are appx. F in color and very clean, VS1. They are sent in platinum. The rest of the ring is 18kt yellow gold. Total weight of the ring is appx. 8.21 gr. The band is appx. 1.6mm wide at top shoulders and gets wider to appx. 3mm at the back of the finger. This is marked .750 and plat and signed with what looks like an axe pictograph. That mark seems to match Jones & Woodland as does the quailty of the ring. This ring is an outstanding ring, Likely 1930's-1950's. I see a lot of jewelry and the quality on this pieces is up there as is the color of the gemstones and the clarify and cut. Very good condition - very well taken care off too.
