Description

Gilt bronze, size 4 ½ for wear on the small finger as was the custom. Rounded face tapered band 2.9mm, flaring to the shoulders. Raised rounded square bezel cut with a diamond, representing the Star of Bethlehem which at this time was depicted as a diamond shape based on the earlier star of Mars, Roman Goddess of War. These rings were worn by Pilgrims to the Holy Land in the 9th century. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
