1st-3rd century. Iron, triangular flesh cutting example. 3 3/8" length. The period of Roman conquest of Western Europe including the Britain, which had previously remained independent by paying tribute to Rome. At the time, the British people were tribal and protected in battle by heavy leather garments. These triangular points were evidently superior in penetrating as the produced less surface friction than flat points.
