his type of globe belong to the tradition of globe making of the 19th century : 12 full gores on a solid ball of plaster . G.Thomas [1840-1903] was the succesor of E. Bertaud (1840-1903) , Bertaud itself being the sucessor of Felix Delamarche . This Cartographic publishing house was born in 1934, it took over the productions of Henry Barrère (1890-1930) and P.H. Barrère (1931-1933) to finally become between 1946 and 1959 the company name GIRARD, BARRERE ET THOMAS. Later it was taken over in 1974 by TARIDE. This globe was most likely to be used in classroom just after WW2.
