First edition of this work which remains a primary source for the study of English nobility during the Saxon and Norman eras.
The present copy bears some occasional notes in ink (likely early 19th c.) and one page with a manuscript note tipped to lower margin.
Title laid down, some foxing and toning, occasional minor stains,
a couple of leaves with closed tears (no loss of text),
boards scuffed and with wear to edges.
