Description

West Africa, Ghana, Ashanti peoples wood carved stool or throne chair. Distinct U-shaped top with three pierced holes. Carried on the back of a carved tortoise with a rifle forward and large snail in reference to an Ashanti Proverbs. Base with a scalloped edge and pierced to the center with two half circle openings and a center rectangular opening. Size 20 1/2" W x 17" H x 11" L
