The Oil painting on canvas titled "Silence of the water" is a striking portrayal of serenity and stillness, expressed through the timeless motif of a solitary figure drifting along a waterway. Executed with thick, textured strokes of oil paint, the work captures the quiet poetry of nature, where water, reeds, sky, and human presence merge into a single harmonious whole. The title itself emphasizes the central theme of the piece: the unspoken calmness of water, its ability to soothe, reflect, and carry life in a state of tranquil suspension. At the heart of the composition lies a small red boat, vivid and unmistakable against the deep blue and green tones of the water. Inside the boat, a figure sits quietly, painted in subdued whites and reds, their posture relaxed, absorbed in the moment of solitude. The bold color of the boat not only provides contrast but also acts as an anchor for the viewer's gaze, guiding attention to the interaction between human presence and nature's vast stillness. The boat seems to glide effortlessly, leaving behind no wake, symbolizing the gentle coexistence of humanity and the natural world when embraced with respect and calm. The water itself is masterfully rendered with layers of blues, greens, and subtle reflections that suggest depth and quiet movement. Lilies float at the bottom left, their rounded forms adding softness to the composition, while reflections ripple faintly on the surface, capturing the essence of water's reflective silence. The reeds, which dominate much of the scene, rise tall and golden, their thick, impasto strokes conveying both their density and their fragility. They form a kind of natural wall, a sanctuary that protects the water and the boat from the outside world, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and seclusion. The background adds further richness to the narrative. Trees in vibrant shades of green, orange, and yellow rise beyond the reeds, their colors glowing warmly under the light of the day. Above them stretches a sky painted in deep blue with strokes of lavender and pink clouds, evoking both movement and stillness. The colors suggest a late afternoon or early evening, when the world softens and the air is filled with a gentle quiet, complementing the theme of silence.
