This oil painting cardboard, titled "By boat to the shore", the interplay of vibrant greens, deep blues, and earthy browns creates a sense of harmony and movement, immersing the viewer in the peaceful beauty of nature. In the foreground, the river's reflective surface is painted with a mix of deep blues, dark greens, and soft grays, mirroring the surrounding landscape. The brushwork in the water is dynamic, creating gentle ripples that suggest a slow-moving current. Light reflections shimmer on the surface, enhancing the realism and fluidity of the scene. To the left, a lush grassy bank rises from the water's edge, covered in a mixture of bright greens and ochre tones. The thick, textured strokes suggest tall grass and undergrowth, illuminated by sunlight filtering through the trees. The bank is slightly elevated, leading the viewer's eye toward the background, where a dense forest of trees stands tall. The trees are painted in varying shades of green, brown, and dark blue, their rough, textured bark adding depth and structure to the landscape. A striking white-barked birch tree stands among them, its slender form adding contrast to the dense foliage. A small human figure, painted in a vivid red, stands on the grassy slope, providing a focal point amidst the natural elements. The figure's presence adds a narrative element-perhaps a fisherman or a traveler waiting for a boat to arrive. The bright red clothing draws immediate attention, standing out against the predominantly green and earthy tones. In the middle of the river, a boat glides toward the shore, painted in deep red and brown hues. The small, distant form of the boatman adds movement and direction to the composition, reinforcing the theme of travel and connection with nature. The subtle wake behind the boat suggests its gentle approach toward the land, adding a dynamic element to the otherwise calm and still landscape. The background features a sky painted in soft blues, whites, and subtle lavender tones, with loose, sweeping brushstrokes forming delicate clouds. The sky's gentle hues complement the rich colors of the land and water, creating a balanced and atmospheric composition. The overall mood of the painting is one of serenity, reflection, and connection to nature. The blend of warm and cool tones, the expressive textures, and the careful composition create a scene that feels both intimate and expansive.
