Carl Gustav Herslev painted portraits, landscapes and still life studies. This nice-sized painting is an impression of a group of disparate species, featuring various primates/monkeys at rest, hanging from a branch, walking on all fours, and mother holding her infant. The painting bears artists signature at bottom left. Age is difficult to decipher, but looks to be 1936. This piece features shades of brown and yellow, with a primarily green background. The canvas is within a wood frame with neutral matting. This playful primate painting, by Danish artist Carl Gustav Herslev, would be great decorative addition to a living room, study or perhaps hallway.
