French Indo-Chine Artist Nye Phai Abstract Still Life Painting 1952

Description

Terrific composition of floral pots in red and green. Quite a well-done artwork from the mid-century. a fully envisioned still-life of three potted flowers in a field of red and green vertical bands. Black contour lines cut out the image and the color bands define the shapes of the elements. Signed Nye Phai 52 apparently from Vietnam. Likely tempera paints on canvas on a shaped support panel. The underside has rolled edges. Period frame colored to blend with canvas. Nicely conceived. Beautifully executed. The size is 26" wide and 22" tall in a period frame.
