Description
A tall clear crystal candlestick from the renowned Swedish glass company Kosta-Boda, producing the finest hand blown crystal since 1898.
This Prince pattern 66202 is artistically designed with bulbous bottom rising to a narrow belt to a final flare. Nicely cut sides vertically and horizontal to provide maximum reflection from candle flame.
Introduced 1982 and discontinued 2003. This is the tallest of the Prince candlesticks measuring 11 inches tall and 3.75 inches wide at the base.
Signed by master glass blower Goran Warff- marked "˜Kosta 66202 Warff'. This revered glass artist passed away last year.
He began with Kosta in 1964 making his mark in his glass career with designs worthy of veneration.
"Göran Wärff remains one of the most powerful, yet subtle, poetic and self-effacing contributors to Swedish glass. His work is arguably the most "˜glassy' of all his contemporaries, relying almost entirely on the principles of line and light, & minimal use of colour and "˜fireworks'. " (cited Andy McConnell in an upcoming book on "˜Swedish Glass Design')
