This lot includes 2 wood cocoa boxes from the early 20th century and Cocoa and Chocolate Exhibition booklet from the Walther Baker & Co of Dorchester Mass. printed in 1910. Booklet contains replicas of chocolate labels, engravings of cocoa pods and tree plus detailed decriptions of the harvesting and chocolate making processes. Aside from their intrinsic value to collectors, we think these are useful and attractive Americana antiques suitable for kitchen decor. Both wood boxes have tongue & groove joinery at corners. Smaller box "Caracas Sweet Chocolate" is 9.25" wide x 6.25" deep x 4.5" high, is printed on all four sides, plain top, bottom and inside. Larger box "Gold Medal Awarded Paris Exhibition" is 11" wide x 7.5" deep x 8.25" high, printed on four sides, plain top, bottom and there's a label inside the top lid shown. Booket: 8" w x 5.25" h.
