Rare bronze Spelter lamp. Made in Paris, France circa the late 19th century. Signed and stamped. The lamp is made of Beautiful working condition.

This lamp depicts a leaves and a boy with a walking stick in boots. It is expressive and features two red light bulbs.

Spelter is a zinc-based alloy, often mixed other metals, used primarily from the 1860s as a cheaper, lighter, and more brittle alternative to bronze for manufacturing decorative statues, lamps, and tableware. While often patinated to resemble bronze, it is softer and, when scratched, reveals a silvery, white metal underneath.
