Description
Handsome and exceptionally detailed late 19th C. Mahogany / Brass Humidor.
Perfect Campaign style design, with the unusual three sets of end / edge trims to support the larger size.
Very clean, with period-correct zinc lining, no visible maker's marks.
Heavy and clean brass trims and hinges - all strong and sure.
Un-marked center plaque - no monogram as of yet.
H: approx. 6 1/2". W: approx. 12 1/2". D: approx. 9"
Missing a key, thought a standard skeleton would likely do the trick.
Unusual to have the brass screw detailing around the perimeter of the top...a beautiful touch to set this one apart.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
If you follow our listings you'll see we have a "thing" for boxes, chests, trunks, and case goods.
Likewise, chinoiserie and campaign style are favorites of ours...see a pattern emerging?
And then there is this...my husband has his father's humidor, and still uses it actively, so every time we find a really good one he leans in!
In his words, this is a magnificent humidor. Larger than most, far more detailed than most, cleaner than most, and - as of yet - un-monogrammed. PERFECT!
