Over many decades, Baskin gifted prints directly to my grandparents, Bernard and Clara Maslow and to my mother and uncle. These gifts were made personally by the artist and remained within the family from the time they were received.My uncle also collaborated with Leonard Baskin on several book projects, with my uncle as the writer and Baskin as the illustrator.Following the deaths of my grandparents, Bernard and Clara Maslow, this group of works passed by descent to me and have remained in my possession since that time. My grandparents were highly cultured collectors and their home was filled with art and books. Bernard Maslow's sister Sophie Maslow was a noted modern dancer who performed with Martha Graham before founding the Sophie Maslow Dance Company.I now live in western Massachusetts near where Leonard Baskin lived and remain in contact with his family. Leonard Baskin was also a mentor to my husband when he was an art student at the University of Massachusetts.All works in this group descend directly through the Maslow family and have never been previously offered for sale.Emily Cohen
