A collection of five modern commemorative replica and tribute pieces based on historical United States Double Eagle coinage. The lot includes two specimens from the American Mint Replica Archival Collection: a 1907 Indian Head pattern (Judd-1776 replica) and a 1933 Saint-Gaudens design. Also included are three gold-clad tribute pieces from the George Current Collection, encapsulated by Numistrust Corporation (NTC), representing the 1849 Liberty Head, 1870-CC Liberty Head (Carson City), and 1927-D Saint-Gaudens (Denver) issues. Designers represented include Augustus Saint-Gaudens and James B. Longacre. Design types featured are Indian Head obverse / Eagle reverse, Saint-Gaudens obverse / Eagle reverse, and Liberty Head obverse / Heraldic Eagle reverse. All specimens feature a visible COPY stamp on the reverse. These pieces replicate rare or non-circulated historical US gold issues for collectors.
