Oil on canvas, with monogram "HP" lower left, (12.25 x 14 inches), the reverse inscribed "After the Original Miser in the Florence Gallery/ by WTC," possibly William Tolman Carlton (American 1816 - 1888)Frame: H: 22.5 in., W: 20.75 in., D: 1.75 in.Note: Depicting a seated elderly man counting sacks of gold coins, thought to represent the sin of avarice. The original is in the collection of the Uffizi Gallery, Florence.
