
**Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Revolver
.45 ACP. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 68882. Blued finish with casehardened hammer and trigger mounting smooth walnut two-piece grips. Double action six-shot hand ejector revolver designed to use moon clips. Sights consist of a half moon front blade and topstrap rear notch. Butt marked U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917 with the lower barrel marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Left barrel struck S.&W. D.A. 45 with standard two-line address and patent to top of the barrel. Further marks include {Ordnance Bomb} at upper left frame, {Eaglehead/S7} to the lower frame, and an {Eaglehead/S3} on the interior frame and lower barrel. Serial numbers match on the butt, barrel, cylinder, and star extractor. Interior assembly number reads 33931. Comes with a left hand belt holster with loop struck G.&K./1917/A.G., with US embossed on the body. {C&R}

Condition
Good. Bore is Frosty with some firing residues, patina, and crisp rifling. Metal finish shows a continuous turn ring, edgewear overall, scattered scratches and abrasions, and some nicks on the edges of the metal. Case colors remain strong on hammer and trigger flanks with gray to brown patina forming on handling surfaces. Grips have been sanded and show nicks and scratches. Action exhibits good timing and a tight lockup. Holster shows scattered stains and abrasions with crazing and cracking.
