
**Japanese Type 38 Arisaka Rifle
7.7x58mm. 31.4" barrel length. SN: 39908. Blued metal finish with wood semi-pistol grip stock featuring spliced toe and front and rear sling loops. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Sights consist of an adjustable ladder rear notch and barleycorn front blade with protectors. Left receiver displays the stacked cannonball marking of the Kokura arsenal along with a 26th Series mark. Receiver displays the standard Type markings below a ground Chrysanthemum. Serial numbers match on the bolt, barrel, and cocking piece, but the extractor is replaced and the firing pin non numbered. {C&R}

Condition
Fair. Bore is Bright with strong Metford pattern rifling throughout. Metal finish is strong with some scattered abrasions, edgewear, and brown patina forming on triggerguard, magazine floorplate, and interior receiver. Stock displays handling wear and dents overall. Tip of the firing pin has sheared off, and can no longer protrude through the firing pin port. Tip of the forend has a substantial loss to wood. Rear sight is missing the spring latch for adjustment.
