Japanese Officer's Kyu Gunto

27.5" single edged hatchet tip blade with a nearly full-length narrow fuller along the spine. Blade .8" wide at ricasso. Overall length 32.75". 4.75" hilt with French style brass guard and knuckle bow, grooved wood handle and 11 wraps of multi-strand wire. Bright blade with clear Hamon. Includes a plated steel scabbard with a single suspension ring.

Condition
Very Good. Blade with some polish intact and a nice Hamon, showing some minor nicks and dings along the spine and some scuffing on the blade, nearer the tip. Blade to grip junction solid, guard with some wobble. Scabbard with flaked loss to plating and scattered surface oxidation and freckles of surface rust.
