Late Qing Dynasty (late 19th century) Tibetan / Chinese silver chatelaine to be worn on a belt, with five suspended items for personal grooming including an ear pick, stylized sword and halberd and two pointed tools (possibly for fingernails). Most probably was intended as presentation piece for a Mongolian or Manchu person, and is decorated with auspicious symbols - flower and pearls on the upper holder, a bat surrounded by two coins and four Yin-Yang emblems on the lower holder, and a butterfly on the sword. Decorations are done on both sides of each element. The material appears to be Chinese silver (silver contents of 800 or lower), pleasant patina, can use some cleaning. Very nice item in excellent condition. Overall length 16.5 inches.
