19th century Japanese tobacco pipe consisting of a reed stem and 2 silver parts. Very well made, good balance, pleasant to hold, characteristic small bowl (Japanese used finely shredded tobacco, and usually made just 2-3 puffs), traces of tobacco residue. Both metal parts are marked with Japanese characters reading JUNGIN (pure silver). Total length 8 3/8 inches.
