Art Deco Mottled Bakelite Hinged Box

Description

Striking Art Deco era Bakelite box featuring a deep olive-green body with dramatic black and white confetti-like inclusions, topped with a richly swirled butterscotch marbleized lid and matching handle. The box has a solid, weighty feel with classic stepped rectangular form and molded feet, giving it that bold Deco silhouette collectors love. The hinged lid opens smoothly to a clean interior, making it ideal for use as a trinket box, dresser box, or vanity storage. Condition shows expected age wear including surface scuffs, minor edge roughness, and visible stress lines consistent with vintage Bakelite, but it remains an excellent decorative example with strong color and pattern.
