Description
Extremely Rare Romanian "Intact" King Carol Crest Contract VZ24 Mauser 8mm Bolt Action Rifle in good to very good condition with a bright and defined bore. The action appears to function properly with minor wear to the finish and some cosmetic blemishing to the stock. The finish appears to be a non-blue almost matte black but nevertheless is in very nice condition. Finding a Czechoslovak vz.24 rifle with an intact King Carol crest is quite rare in the collector market today often described by enthusiasts and dealers as "extremely rare. After World War II, when Romania came under Communist control (monarchy abolished in 1947), the regime systematically refurbished many of these rifles. A key part of that process involved grinding off, scrubbing, or defacing the royal crests to erase symbols of the monarchy and previous regime. This was standard policy for Romanian military small arms, similar to how other Communist states removed tsarist or royal markings.
