A handsome antique French mantel clock in black slate with gold-tone metal decorations, typical of late 19th century Victorian design. The architectural case features the classic temple form with stepped pediment top and decorative base.The clock displays a gold dial with sunburst center, Arabic numerals, and two winding arbors. The case is enhanced with cast metal side plaques showing wheel and floral motifs, plus hand-incised gold scrollwork decoration on the slate surfaces.Case Material: Black slate with gold-tone metal mounts and painted gold decorationMovement: Spring-driven mechanism, typical of French mantel clocks from this period

Condition

Fair to good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. The black slate case shows surface scratches, scuffs, and paint loss throughout. Gold decoration shows wear with some finish loss in areas.
