The bearded figure holds an artist's palette in his hands and is posed next to painter's equipment including what appears to be a helmet and decorative vessel, creating an allegory of Art or Creativity.The clock case is lavishly decorated with rococo-style cast ornamental details and topped with a shell finial. The round dial features Arabic numerals with engine-turned center and visible movement behind a convex glass bezel. The slow/fast regulation markings are visible above the 12.
