Title: Oil painting Sunset behind the houses Alex Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA3981This oil painting cardboard, titled "Sunset behind the houses", the artist uses a thick impasto technique, layering bold, textured brushstrokes to bring depth and movement to the composition. The interplay of warm and cool tones creates a sense of balance, highlighting the peaceful transition between day and night. In the foreground, the land is depicted in earthy browns, deep greens, and golden yellows, showing the rugged, uneven terrain. The thick application of paint emphasizes the raw texture of the soil, possibly a plowed field or a footpath leading toward the village. The brushwork is dynamic and expressive, making the land feel full of life, as if it has been shaped by time and nature. The middle ground features a small stream or a low-lying patch of land covered in vibrant green and blue hues, reflecting the last light of the day. The artist's use of cool tones contrasts beautifully with the golden warmth of the sunset, adding depth and dimension to the scene. The green fields surrounding the houses suggest the presence of pastures or gardens, adding to the idyllic countryside setting. The houses in the background, with their dark red and brown roofs, appear nestled among the landscape. They are painted with a mix of deep blues, purples, and whites, giving them a cool, shadowed appearance as they absorb the last rays of sunlight. The rooftops and walls, rendered with thick, confident strokes, suggest traditional village homes, simple yet full of character. The warm glow of the sunset reflects off their surfaces, creating subtle highlights that suggest fading daylight. Scattered, leafless trees with twisting branches frame the composition, painted in deep browns and purples. Their skeletal forms add an atmospheric quality to the painting, emphasizing the quiet stillness of the village as it prepares for the approaching evening. Their placement also guides the viewer's eye toward the horizon, where the sky glows with soft pastels. The sky is a blend of warm golden hues, muted purples, and soft pinks, evoking the last light of the sun as it dips below the horizon. The thick, swirling brushstrokes in the sky create a sense of movement, as if the clouds are shifting in response to the setting sun. The warm tones contrast beautifully with the cooler elements of the village and landscape, creating a dynamic yet harmonious composition.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING ***
