Title: Oil painting Geese in the shade of willows Alex Kalenyuk Description: №Kalen 1486The oil painting on canvas titled "Geese in the Shade of Willows" is an exuberant expression of pastoral life, rendered in a vibrant impasto technique that brings both energy and texture to the scene. With a rich palette of yellows, oranges, purples, and deep greens, the artist invites viewers into a sun-soaked countryside, where light filters through the dense canopy of willow trees and playful geese wander through dappled grass. This piece captures not only a moment of rural tranquility but also the dynamic beauty of nature in motion. The central focus of the painting is a large willow tree, its trunk and branches painted in bold strokes of burgundy, violet, and earthy brown. Its foliage is a mosaic of emerald, jade, and ochre tones, giving the impression of dense, rustling leaves catching the sun from above. The tree seems almost alive, its branches twisting and reaching with expressive movement, embodying the vitality of the natural world. Surrounding the tree are bursts of golden yellow and deep blue, suggesting a mix of light and shadow as sunbeams pass through the canopy and touch the ground. Beneath the sheltering willow branches, a group of geese is depicted in mid-motion. Their bright white feathers stand out against the darker, cooler hues of the shaded grass and undergrowth. These birds, painted with thick, confident strokes of white and hints of red and blue, add a whimsical and lively presence to the scene. Their curved necks and outstretched wings give a sense of motion—some walking, others flapping or pecking at the earth—contributing a feeling of freedom and contentment. The background of the composition is a dazzling field of warm yellows and oranges, layered with lavender and sky-blue accents that hint at distant flowers, hills, or perhaps a fading sky. This field, painted with wide, textured strokes, contrasts with the cool, shaded area under the tree, guiding the viewer's eye through the painting and creating a sense of space and perspective. It evokes the heat and brilliance of a summer afternoon, where the golden landscape shimmers under the sun’s gaze while the willows offer respite in their gentle shadow.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING ***
