S#: NSN | 31.5" Barrel | Left side of receiver marked “Remington MLE 1907-15” and right side of barrel is marked “RAC 1907-15” | During WWI in 1916 Remington in the U.S. took on a contract to produce 250,000 Berthier rifles but struggled to meet French quality and delivery standards due to overcommitment. The contract was canceled in August 1916 after only 9,440 rifles were delivered to France. Around 5,000 to 10,000 Remington-made rifles were left and sold commercially in the U.S. where serialization wasn’t required until 1934. This one is an example of the US rifles without a serial number. These are extremely rare and collectible for the French Military enthusiast |||| CONDITION: Excellent, like new. Beautiful 98% original blue finish. Crisp and clear markings. Wood stock is excellent and solid, like new. Original leather sling is nice and pliable with honest wear. Mechanically functions. Bore is pristine. Absolutely beautiful rifle! ||||| FFL CLASS: C&R
