Description

Size 8 1/2, 2.2mm width with flat face. Rare early variation. Cast as a solid disk with a center core to distribute the molten metal and heat. The core was then, laboriously removed by hand with remnants intact. Bronze, with the pure silver surface restored for modern wear. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom's sword. See the reference image which shows the process. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Rare large wearable size.
