Description
Phyllis Kapp (born 1930 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American painter and watercolorist celebrated for her exuberant, expressive landscapes inspired by the dramatic light, color, and forms of the northern New Mexico terrain. She is best known for vibrant, abstracted and richly colored watercolors that capture the essence and ever-changing moods of the Southwest landscape rather than literal topographical detail.Kapp moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the mid-1980s, where she established the Waxlander Gallery on Canyon Road, a respected space that showcased her work and nurtured the careers of many other artists for over three decades. Her lifelong devotion to painting and mentoring fellow artists has made her a beloved figure in the Santa Fe art community. We do not offer in-house shipping but you can arrange your own by contacting one of these four trusted shippers who can deliver your artworks to you safely and fully insured.
