Absolutely stunning rare nineteenth century Meissen Blue Onion Rich gilded scalloped chinoiserie platter. This antique beauty is in superb condition for her age, with vibrant shades of blue, orange and red against a white porcelain background. Her scalloped edges hold most of the original gilding. The chinoiserie design dates to the 1700s, although this platter was likely produced closer to 1845 based on her markings. Truly an exceptional and rare piece. Measures 18" long, 13" deep and 1.75" tall. In excellent antique condition with only minor signs of wear, including very slight rubbing in some places on the gilding and rub marks on the bottom of the piece.
