Stunning large vintage Japanese 4-panel hand painted Byobu (folding screen) with Chrysanthemums. Signed and sealed by artist. Watercolor, gouache and ink on gold leaf style paper over boards. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with reticulated brass corners and plaques, and medallions, showing age patina. Silk on back. Detailed. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1960-1970s. Very Good to Good condition - minor age wear overall, small water marks, water damage on silk brocade border of 2nd, 3rd and 4th panels and back, repairs on hinges on back between 3rd and 4th panels, clean, sturdy.
