Lovely ShÅwa Era 4-panel Japanese hand painted silk Byobu (folding screen), depicting Peonies flowers and leaves. Signed and sealed by artist. Watercolor and ink on silk. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved copper corners and plaques showing age patina. Paper, original label and two metal hangers on back. Two more metal hangers are included. Silk on this screen changes color a little bit, depending on light and angle: from light gold to beige, which you can see on the second image to last. Japan, ShÅwa Era, circa 1950-1960s. Very Good condition - no damage to the painting nor back, some water damage to the silk border of the 3rd and 4th panels (please see image #14); minor age wear overall, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
