Pair of Barovier & Toso Ribbed Olive Verde Murano Glass Table Lamps, Italy, c. 1955–1965

A striking and sculptural pair of mid-century Barovier & Toso Murano glass lamps, handblown in a rare and luminous olive verde palette. Each lamp features a voluptuous ribbed baluster form rising from a flared, scalloped foot, executed in the Venetian costolature technique, in which vertical ribs are pulled and elongated to create elegant sculptural channels that refract and amplify light.

The richly saturated green tones"”shifting from deep forest to translucent olive"”are achieved through layered sommerso glass, giving the lamps exceptional depth, optical movement, and jewel-like clarity. The attenuated necks, crisp rib transitions, and thick-walled construction exemplify Barovier & Toso's celebrated mastery of postwar Murano glassmaking, produced during the 1955–1965 period when the firm's sculptural lighting reached international prominence.

Retaining their vintage brass hardware and harp fittings, the lamps present beautifully at an impressive 38-inch overall height, making them superb statement pieces for sophisticated interiors.
