ARTIST:
Ilona Shymchyts is an artist originally from the village of Mushkativka in the Borshchiv region. She received her education at the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Her works have been exhibited in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Borshchiv, and the L. Levytskyi Museum in Burdiakivtsi, as well as abroad - in Toronto (Canada), Poznan, and Torun (Poland). The artist's works are held in private collections in Ukraine and beyond, including the United States, Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the Czech Republic. In her paintings, Shymchyts often combines realistic attention to detail with a soft decorative quality and a restrained color palette. Her works reveal a tendency to create quiet, meditative landscapes in which rural architecture conveys a sense of calm and a connection to her native land.
