Description: Chinoiserie Chinese-inspired Mid-century Rosewood Horseshoe Corner Chairs with Marble Seats designed by James Mount. These beautiful solid maple wood corner set of 2 chairs with gorgeous carvings along the seat back and legs with an inlaid marble seat. It features the Asian influence Modernist look made famous by James Mont. James Mont (1904-1978), a notorious mid-century designer and interior decorator, counted gangsters and movie stars among his clients. His bold, exotic, and often Chinese-inspired pieces stand out in decadent relief against a field of restrained modernism. Mont’s life and work, both shrouded in mystery, were a mind-boggling mixture of the louche and the luxurious. Both pieces are in excellent shape with no damage to their structure—a great addition to your home. 1950, United States 2 pairs available Measurements: 32.5" wide, 26.5" deep, and 33" high.
