SERIAL NUMBER: N/A , BARREL: 42", CALIBER: .69 SMOOTH BORE. Arsenal conversion from Flintlock to Percussion. Lock is marked US A. WATERS 1836 MILBURY. The barrel tang is also dated 1836. Full length walnut stock has 3 barrel retaining bands and loading rod. The stock has impressions and wear from use. There is a visible cartouche on the left flat. CONDITION: Good. The musket appears untouched since the arsenal conversion. The metal patina is dark and there is pitting at the breech. The left side of breech is marked US TW P and New Hampshire. The action is tight and works properly. The nipple is a replacement. The butt plate is heavily pitted. The bore is frosted. Includes a leather sling. A nice honest example of a firearm converted for the Civil War. ANTIQUE
