Bean is seen on horseback outside the building, which bears the iconic sign, “Justice of the Peace Law West of the Pecos.” Another man stands beside a sign advertising “Ice Beer,” clutching a rifle and a beer, while a third figure is seated on the steps. The printed caption below the image explains it was taken in 1902 by Assistant Foreman Hall of the Pecos High Bridge Gang and later preserved in the Rose Collection by Pastor Grover Lee in 1937.
