Ca. 1964 Cree Moose Hide Beaded Gauntlets

Featured in this lot is this Cree Indian moose hide beaded gauntlets circa 1964; provenance: Bought by collector at a Cree settlement on the Fox River in Northern BC, Canada. The gauntlets feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted brain tanned moose hide construction that shows a rabbit fur fringe in two segments with medallions of trade seed beads in the likeness of two flowers with coloration that includes: chalk white, medium blue, yellow, translucent brown, and translucent sky blue. The gloves are of lighter weight but being brain tanned have a natural water proofing and leave the gauntlets soft to touch. The condition of this pair of Cree gauntlets
